Singapore PM defends deal with Taylor Swift to skip other south-east Asian nations
Singapore's prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong, said an incentive provided to Taylor Swift to make Singapore the only stop in south-east Asia on her world tour was not a hostile act towards its neighbours. ‘It has turned out to be a very successful arrangement. I don't see that as being unfriendly,’ Lee said. Swift is currently part way through six sold-out shows in Singapore, her only stop in south-east Asia

Singapore praised for AUKUS stance as other ASEAN states 'tremendously split' on China
The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan has praised Singapore for maintaining a “very close” relationship with Australia as the two respective prime ministers wrapped up a joint press conference during the ASEAN summit.
“ASEAN is itself, tremendously split on China,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News Australia.
“They have been working on this code of conduct since Adam was a boy – that is not going to have an effect on anything.
“They can’t produce anything because they are so split.
“Several ASEAN states are strategic clients of China – others blow hot and cold.”

Singapore prime minister defends exclusive deal with Taylor Swift
Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has defended an exclusive deal his city-state struck with Taylor Swift that prevents the pop star taking her current Eras Tour to anywhere else in Southeast Asia. Swift is performing six concerts from March 2 to 9 in Singapore under an exclusive deal that has been criticized by some Southeast Asian neighbors who complain they have been deprived of the tourist boom that her concerts have brought elsewhere.
